In just seven months, her 2012 VW Caddy Maxi 1.6 TDI, known as Cammy, has gone from a practical daily into a fully built camper and lifestyle van. Not built in a workshop. Not built for show. Built properly, by hand, and used every day.
Cammy stands out straight away.
The white and purple theme runs through everything, inspired by Shelley’s love of The Nightmare Before Christmas. From the purple wheels to the custom styling, it’s a van with real identity — not something copied, not something off a shelf.
Lowered stance, blacked-out rear windows, and a completely unique look give it that proper VW scene presence. The kind of van that fits just as well parked up at a meet as it does outside your house ready for work the next morning.
Because that’s the point — this isn’t just a build. It’s a daily.
Like most people, Shelley didn’t expect it to turn into this.
She bought the Caddy because it was the perfect size. Easy to drive, practical for everyday use, and still capable of getting away at the weekends.
Then came the VW scene.
Joining Midlands Dub Klub opened everything up. Meets, new people, shared ideas, and that feeling you only really understand once you’re part of it.
Her first festival was Skegvegas.
After that, it just clicked.
Trips to places like Lynmouth in Devon, more meets, more miles, and more memories. What started as a van quickly became a lifestyle.

Shelley uses the van daily as part of her job as a mobile hairdresser, which means it needs to be reliable, comfortable, and practical all at the same time.
