Meet Oli — Founder and Designer Behind Volkstoff
Volkstoff is designed and created by Oli, the founder behind the brand and a lifelong enthusiast of Volkswagen culture, automotive design, and road trip lifestyle.
Creativity has always been a big part of Oli’s life. He studied Art & Design, Photography, and Graphic Design at college, before continuing his studies in Editorial Photography at Brighton University. Visual storytelling, design, and creative culture have always shaped the way he approaches both photography and clothing design.
But the real inspiration behind Volkstoff started much earlier.
Growing Up Around Volkswagen Culture
Oli grew up in a Volkswagen family, with Golfs being a familiar sight in the driveway, alongside the occasional Polo and the iconic Volkswagen Transporter.
Many early memories revolve around travelling to car events with his dad. From the raw power and noise of Santa Pod Raceway, to early mornings at Caffeine & Machine, the historic atmosphere of Goodwood, and the relaxed coastal community at Beach Dubbing, these events helped shape a lifelong connection to VW culture and automotive communities.
These gatherings were never just about the cars. They were about the people, the stories, and the shared passion that brings enthusiasts together.
Life on the Road
After university, Oli travelled abroad and worked in Greece as a club representative, before later becoming a coach driver, travelling throughout the UK and across Europe taking people on holidays and road trips.
Spending years on the road strengthened a deep appreciation for travel, freedom, and the lifestyle that grows around vehicles and adventure.
Alongside this, Oli has also worked in construction and hands-on trades, something that continues to influence the honest and practical approach behind the Volkstoff brand.
